Just got back from seeing POTC 3.
Frigging awesome. Seriously, my love for this film knows no bounds and I could squee for ages. Sure, the plot's a little iffy, (there's plotholes the size of the big-ass whirlpool); and I admit at one point I was just going "Oh for Gods' sake, stop betraying each other, you're on the same damn side!"; but it was still ace.
The awesome fight sequences, the complete and utter lack of sappy romance and angsty love triangle, combined with the most awesome marriage ceremony in the history of film marriages (completely unrealistic, but still funny as hell)... And Keith Richards' appearance was awesome (though my parents had to explain to me afterwards that he was actually Blackbeard, which made it ten times more awesome).
The multiple Jacks (aside from at the beginning) and the giant Calypso later on in the film felt a little... off to me, though. It looked a bit cheesy and out of place visually from everything else, and it threw me out a little of the film. But it was still all good.
Especially the ending. I was completely unspoiled for the plot twist and was not expecting Will to take Davy Jones' place - I was expecting Jack to do it and then ressurect Will, or for Bootstrap to do it. Even when the ship went under I was half expecting them to do a cliffhanger ending. But it was fricking awesome and Orlando Bloom actually managed to pull some acting talent from somewhere - who knew?
And I made my parents stay till after the credits to see if there was an extra scene, and there was, which was so adorable; though it does beg the question of whether this means that Will Turner wont be in any more POTC films (although I suppose he could be in them and just never meet Elizabeth).

I'll tell you because it was AWESOME. It's a little boy singing the pirate song, and then up on the screen pops "ten years later". Then Lizzie comes up behind him and they look expectantly at the horizon. Ship appears, green light, and Will smiles at his wife and son from the distance.
So. Cute.

I will absolutely cry if there are more POTC movies and Orlando isn't in them. But the end ending scene was so adorable.
